Emmerdale’s resident vet Paddy Kirk (played by Dominic Brunt) made a fatal error last week when he raced Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) to the hospital following a suspected heart attack. Viewers tuned in to see his young daughter Eve left in her car seat, and the authorities were swiftly rang alongside partner Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) who was understandably furious with Paddy for being irresponsible. Tonight the pair had an alrighty row in front of the whole village which had gathered in the Woolpack, and subsequently, Paddy fled. But has he left for good?
Paddy and Chas had a turbulent start to parenthood with their first daughter Grace who was diagnosed with a rare condition; Bilateral renal agenesis, where the kidneys do not develop and subsequently lung development was affected resulting in the survival rate of the baby after birth being extremely slim.
Chas insisted on carrying Grace to full term but tragically she passed away 29 minutes after being bored on October 1
Last year, Chas conceived baby Eve, and October 2019, she was born into this world.
While the pair have been doing a great job of raising Eve, Padd’s mistake has put their roles in jeopardy and official soap spoilers have revealed the social services will be paying them a visit to conduct an investigation into Eve’s brief neglect.

In the meantime, where has Paddy gone? And is this the end for the fan favourite couple?
Tonight’s episode was very telling, together, alongside Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) and her son Harry and David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and his son Theo, a christening took place in the village church hosted by none other than by vicar Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton).
While the ceremony was a success, the celebration afterwards was not as Chas made every effort not to allow Paddy near their daughter.
“Paddy, where you going?” Chas raced around the back of the bar and asked. He replied: “She just needs changing but you were talking to Diane -“
Cutting him off, Chas insisted: “It’s fine I’ll do it – you go and – I need to charge my phone anyway.”
“Yes right, course you do,” Paddy remarked exposing her lie.
Softening the blow, Chas replied: “I’ll only be five minutes.”
But this ignited Paddy’s anger, he hit back: “Exactly! You don’t trust me to be with her for 5 minutes!”
“Paddy I’m not doing this here and now,” his partner commented in reference to the pub being full of family and friends.
“I’m right though aren’t I? You were trying to take her off me from the moment I picked her up in the church,” Paddy fumed.
And Chas pleaded: “Will you just leave it?”
“Or why don’t you just be honest – just be honest,” Paddy continued and Chas exclaimed: “Right, ok, you’re right.
“If that’s what you really want to hear – you left our daughter alone in a car, so yes Paddy I really can’t leave you with her for five minutes!”

The next scene saw the pair in the back room of the pub where their argument escalated and Chas revealed the real reason why she was so scared to let Paddy look after Eve.
“She needs a nap,” Chas excused and Paddy remarked: “Well you know what’s best for her.”
“Yes I do because I’m her mother,” viewers saw Chas snap back but Paddy was furious: “Well I’m her father! And I know you’re stressed out about the social services coming tomorrow but did you really have to do that in front of the whole pub?”
Hitting back, Chas argued: “You were the one pushing it!
“When I got that phone call from the police it was like the world was pulled away from me. We knew what what was coming with Grace, we lost her and there was nothing we could do to stop it.
“So you know what? I am really sorry if people think I’m being over the top, but keeping Eve safe is all that I care about,” she concluded and left Paddy standing gobsmacked.

But it was the closing scene which tugged on viewers hearts, having put Eve down for a nap, Chas walked back into the kitchen and saw a note which read: “Love you both so much, but you were right. Best if I just go.”
Presumably, it was Paddy’s handwriting, and viewers took to Twitter to speculate.
One said: “I hope Chas & Paddy can solve things cos they deserve to be happy #Emmerdale.”
“NOOO where’s Paddy’s gone? Marlon’s? #Emmerdale,” another added.
Someone else wrote: “Chas and Paddy bring out the worst in each other’s personalities. I wish they’d break them up… #Emmerdale.”
Emmerdale returns tomorrow night at 7pm on ITV.
