SPURS utterly failed to overturn a one-goal deficit in Leipzig as they were humiliated 3-0 in the former East German city.

But they won't be facing Manchester United this weekend, after coronavirus caused the Premier League to be suspended.

Yet at least Tottenham have been given a boost by Moussa Sissoko's return to training.

  • SPURS STATEMENT

    After Premier League matches were postponed until April 4, Tottenham released an official statement on their website.

    It read: “Our Premier League home fixtures against Manchester United and West Ham United, as well as our home WSL fixtures against Birmingham City Women and Chelsea FC Women, Women’s FA Cup tie at Arsenal, Premier League 2 fixture at Arsenal and Under-18 Premier League fixtures away at Aston Villa and home to Arsenal, have been postponed and will be rescheduled.

    “We shall continue to keep fans updated across Club channels – we appreciate your support and patience as we attempt to minimise the impact of COVID-19 across Club operations, continuing to prioritise the health and safety of our players, staff and supporters.

    “Our thoughts are with all those currently affected and we wish them well.”

  • FULL PREM STATEMENT

    Premier League football has been postponed until April 4.

    The League announced the news this morning with an official statement that read: “Following a meeting of Shareholders today, it was unanimously decided to suspend the Premier League with the intention of returning on 4 April, subject to medical advice and conditions at the time.

    “Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters said: 'Above all, we wish Mikel Arteta and Callum Hudson-Odoi speedy recoveries, and everyone else affected by COVID-19.

    “'In this unprecedented situation, we are working closely with our clubs, Government, The FA and EFL and can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.'

    “Despite the challenges, it is the Premier League's aim to reschedule the displaced fixtures, including those played by Academy sides, when it is safe to do so.

    “In this fast-moving environment, further updates will be provided when appropriate.”

    The Premier League has been suspended until April 3.

  • SUNDAY IN DOUBT

    Spurs' game against Manchester United on Sunday is obviously in doubt as a result of today's meeting.

    It could go ahead as it stands as neither team has had any coronavirus scares.
