MANCHESTER UNITED fans were rejoicing after learning Jesse Lingard could miss today's clash with Leicester.
The England midfielder, 26, is a doubt for the game due to illness.
The playmaker has not registered an assist since January 29 and he has scored just once in 2019 – in the FA Cup win at Arsenal on January 25.
So despite the injury count totting up for the Red Devils, some supporters on Twitter were not complaining about Lingard's potential absence.
As well as the countless celebratory GIFs, one person said: "I dunno how any United fan don't see this as a good thing hes honestly one of the worst players in the league."
Another wrote: "Great news what does he contribute apart from running around?"
A third sarcastically added: "That’s a shame. How will we ever cope now."
And lastly, one user quipped: "He hasn’t been involved for Man Utd for the past year or so mate."
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already without Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot and Eric Bailly for the Foxes' visit to Old Trafford.
And £50million right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also a doubt as he fights back from a back injury.
It means Solskjaer could have to bring in Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo at full-backs while the midfield could see Nemanja Matic, Andreas Pereira and Juan Mata brought in to support Marcus Rashford.
Solskjaer, though, remains optimistic of his side's chances, despite winning just three of their last 16 matches.
The United boss said: "There’s always pressure when you’re here but of course I’m confident in what we’re doing.
"We’ve got a plan and the performances haven’t told me that we need to change direction.
"Results, that’s a different matter. But when you concede three goals from four chances, there’s not a lot we can control.
"We can control how we play, how we practise and how we prepare.
"I’m saying three in four chances, I can say four in six chances against us in the last three games.
"So they’re games we should have won. We know that but that’s another matter — we need to score the goals.”
