Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods were two peas in a pod. They grew up together in California and spent most of their lives doing all the amazing things that BFFs do.
Unfortunately, their relationship fizzled earlier this year after Woods allegedly kissed Khloé Kardashian’s then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, at a party. But luckily, the makeup mogul has since found herself a new bestie.
It looks like Woods is out, and Sofia Richie is in.
Richie made the announcement on Instagram
On Aug. 30, Jenner shared a montage video of her birthday vacation in Italy. In the video, Richie, who is currently dating Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, calls Jenner her best friend.
“Kylie, you’re 22, and you’ve always been one year cooler than me,” the model said. “But I love you. You’re my best friend. I don’t know what life would be like without you.”
It’s worth pointing out that Jenner and Richie have reportedly known each other at least since they were teenagers. But it seems like they’ve gotten a lot closer now that Richie is dating Disick, who shares three kids with Kourtney.
A source previously echoed this sentiment to Us Weekly. The insider said on July 20 that the two became closer after Richie patched things up with Kourtney, who once criticized Disick for introducing his girlfriend to their kids without telling her.
The source said that Jenner and Richie have “gotten a lot closer as of late now that the Kourtney, Scott and Sofia drama has died down. Once any drama between Kourtney and Sofia blew over, Kylie felt more comfortable spending girl time with Sofia again.”
The source continued, “[They] have always run in the same circle and are very close in age, so they’ve bonded a lot through the years. They’ve always been in the limelight, lived very similar lifestyles, and grown up around a lot of the same people.”
Jenner and Richie are seemingly always together
If these two aren’t on social media together, they’re on vacation together… preparing to post joint photos to social media.
In July, the pals took a girl’s trip to Turks and Caicos. While on the getaway, they wore matching outfits, frolicked in the water, and posed for beach photos.
More recently, Jenner helped Richie celebrate her 21st birthday on Aug. 24. They reportedly hit up Las Vegas, where they partied, danced, sipped on champagne, and more. A source told E! News that Jenner went above and beyond to ensure that Richie had the best time.
“Kylie was in a great mood, smiling the whole night, while making sure Sofia was having the best time, dancing with her and twirling Sofia around their private VIP area,” the insider explained. “Kylie stayed about 30 minutes before departing early, ahead of the rest of the group.”
Will Jenner and Woods become friends again?
Anything can happen. But it doesn’t seem like these two are rushing to repair their relationship. Woods has repeatedly talked about moving forward while Jenner said in an episode of the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that she enjoys their separation.
When Khloé asked Jenner whether she missed Woods, the reality star said, “I think that this whole Jordyn situation needed to happen for a reason. For me, for you, for everybody.”
She went on to explain how her relationship with Woods kind of held her back. “
[Jordyn] was my security blanket. She lived with me. We did everything together,” Jenner continued, adding, “I just felt like, ‘Oh, I have Jordyn. I don’t need anything else.’”
She added that “there’s a part of me that needed to grow without her” and that she’s come to grips with Woods’ absence in her life.
Only time will tell what happens between them. But, for now, you might want to get used to Jenner and Richie.
