A Scottish waitress who twerked on top of a smashed up ambulance after England beat Sweden in the World Cup has been cleared of criminal damage.

Larissa Bell, 21, was filmed dancing on top of the emergency vehicle after crowds spilled out onto Borough High Street in London on July 7.

She was accused of criminal damage after the vehicle was taken out of service for 34 days due to a shattered windscreen and dented bonnet.

Scott Dennett, 25 and Singaporean Perry Kangyue Jian, 26, were also said to have damaged the vehicle as drunken crowds cheered after England’s 2-0 victory.

Yesterday all four had the charges against them dropped on the strict condition they each repay £833 to make up for the damage – a total of £3,332.

A Crown Prosecution Service spokesman said: ‘To clarify, we discontinued criminal damage charges on the strict condition that the defendants each pay £833 towards the ambulance’s repair.

‘This was agreed by police and appropriate payments have been made.’

Mr Elton was wearing the Marks & Spencer waistcoat made famous by England manager Gareth Southgate during the Football World Cup last year

London Ambulance Service bosses claimed the vandalism ‘put a dampener’ on last year’s World Cup celebrations.

But football fans crowdfunded enough money to pay for the repairs, with Millwall supporters accumulating £10,000 alone.

A Skoda dealership also offered to repair the vehicle free of charge, so the money raised went towards restoring a historic ambulance instead.

Jim Sturman, QC, representing Mr Elton, had told an earlier hearing: ‘He is believed to bear a resemblance to Gareth Southgate.

‘When he was on the roof of the roof there was a lot of chanting of Gareth, Gareth.’

Bell, of East Kilbride, Glasgow, Dennett, of Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, Elton, of West Hampstead, north west London, and Jian, of Poplar, east London, had all denied damaging property at the earlier hearing at Inner London Crown Court.
