THIS is the shocking moment a mum who was left trapped under a sofa for three hours is found by firefighters who were called to her rescue.

Melissa, 53, has become an internet sensation after a video of her becoming stuck under a sofa in her basement went viral on TikTok.

Her partner Todd, 55, was helping Melissa move the sofa when it became lodged in the stairwell, as seen in the hilarious footage taken by daughter, Claire.

The 23-year-old's TikTok, which now has over 13million views, shows the sofa covering the entrance of the basement and her mother's hand poking out from a tiny gap beneath it.

Melissa, who hasn’t given her surname, was left trapped in the basement for three hours while Claire and Todd attempted to free her by dislodging a handrail from the wall – but to no avail.

The family from Columbus, Ohio, USA, had no choice but to call the fire department after their last resort attempt to free Melissa by making a hole in the wall.
