REPUBLICAN Nancy Mace has been serving as the US representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district since 2021.

Who is Nancy Mace?
Nancy Ruth Mace was born on December 4, 1977, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina.
In 1999, she became the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. In 2001, Mace published a book about her experience at the Corps of Cadets entitled In the Company of Men: A Woman at the Citadel.
She later attended the University of Georgia to earn a degree in Mass Communication.
Mace has been serving as a US Representative for South Carolina since 2021.

Mace is a mother to daughter, Elli, and son, Miles.
She shares both her children with ex-husband, Curtis Jackson.

On July 26, 2023, Mace received some mixed reactions after getting 'intimate' with attendees at a prayer breakfast hosted by GOP presidential candidate Senator Tim Scott in the Palmetto State.
"When I woke up this morning at 7 — I was getting picked up at 7:45 — Patrick, my fiancé, tried to pull me by my waist over this morning in bed,” Mace recounted.
“And I was like, ‘No, baby, we don’t got time for that this morning. I gotta get to the prayer breakfast, and I gotta be on time. A little TMI."
She added: "He can wait. I’ll see him later tonight.”
What is Nancy Mace's political party?
Mace remains one of the most fiscally conservative members of the General Assembly.
She is the first Republican woman elected to Congress from South Carolina.
Mace is also one of the most pro-conservation lawmakers in the state, with a 100 percent rating from Conservation Voters of South Carolina.
Despite working on Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, she quickly criticized the former president following the Capitol Protests in January 2021.
“I’m disappointed right now,” Mace told CNN in an interview at the time.

“I think that after last night — and I’m on my 100th hour of being a member of Congress, I’m working on about two hours of sleep — I’m distraught. We’ve got to rebuild our nation, and we’ve got to rebuild our party. This is not who we are. It’s extremely distressing. And it’s saddening. It’s heartbreaking.”
As for the president, “everything that he’s worked for … all of that — his entire legacy — was wiped out yesterday,” she added. “We’ve got to start over.”
