Union announces British Airways pilots will walk out for three days next month in their ongoing dispute over pay
- British Airways pilots will walk out on 9, 10 and 27 September in a row over pay
- The British Airline Pilots Association made the announcement today
- It comes after Ryanair pilots also walked out on strike earlier this month
British Airways pilots will walk out for three days next month in an ongoing dispute over their pay.
The pilots will strike on September 9, 10 and 27, union British Airline Pilots Association announced today.
The move will cause a headache for holidaymakers hoping to travel abroad next month.
It comes after Ryanair pilots walked out for 48 hours in an ongoing dispute over their pay and conditions.
Last month, British Airways pilots overwhelmingly voted for strike action in a dispute over pay that could disrupt the peak summer holiday season of the British flag carrier.
‘The British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) has today given notice to British Airways that it will call on its members to strike on 9th, 10th and 27th September 2019,’ BALPA said in a statement.
‘It is clear, following discussions with members over the last few days, that BA’s most recent offer will not gain the support of anywhere near a majority of its pilots.’
