President Trump ripped Democrats for ”getting nothing done” after the House voted primarily along party lines Tuesday night to condemn him for tweeting that four minority lawmakers should “go back” to where they came.
“The Democrats in Congress are getting nothing done, not on drug pricing, not on immigration, not on infrastructure, not on nothing! Sooo much opportunity, yet all they want to do is go ’fishing,’ ” Trump tweeted on Wednesday. “The American people are tired of the never ending Witch Hunt, they want results now!”
The Democrat-controlled House voted 240-187 to approve a resolution condemning Trump’s comments.
Trump began lashing out Sunday at the four female congresswomen known as “the Squad” – Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar.
All four are US citizens three of the quarter were born in the US.
Omar was born in Somalia and came to the US with her parents when she was 12.
Trump also posted comments made by GOP Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, who called the foursome “wack jobs.”
”In America, if you hate our Country, you are free to leave. The simple fact of the matter is, the four Congresswomen think that America is wicked in its origins, they think that America is even more wicked now, that we are all racist and evil,” Trump quoted Kennedy his interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.
Kennedy — no relation to the famous political clan from Massachusetts — continued to say “the ‘squad’ has moved the Democratic Party substantially left and they are destroying the Democratic Party.”
Four Republicans – Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Will Hurd of Texas, Fred Upton of Michigan and Susan Brooks of Indiana- voted for the House measure.
Former Republican Rep. Justin Amash, who left the party earlier this month, also voted for it.
