Many magnesium supplements use magnesium oxide formulations simply because they contain a high amount of magnesium.

Bioavailability is a measure of how much a mineral or other nutrient stays in our blood circulation after we ingest it, so that our bodies can make use of it.

Carbs and fats are highly bioavailable but many helpful nutrients are not, with significant amounts destroyed in the stomach or just passed through unused.

FutureYou Cambridge set out to unlock higher bioavailability for magnesium, doubling the absorption levels of their Magnesium+ supplement by opting for a naturally occurring magnesium lactate formulation instead of magnesium oxide.
