Dramatic body-cam footage shows the moment armed police stormed a naked gunman’s home as he tried to hide a loaded revolver behind his toilet.
Helder Darame, 23, stashed the firearm and bullets in his man bag before concealing it in a bathroom during a police raid in Erdington, Birmingham.
The 23-year-old was jailed for five years after admitting weapons offences at crown court last year.
Video footage released by West Midlands Police today shows the moment officers swooped on the shared property on June 15 last year.
Police can be seen smashing their way into the address at 4am while officers train their guns on an upstairs window where Darame appears.
They shout: ‘Armed police, shows us your hands Helder, stay at the window, do not move.’

But Darame runs off to try and hide his weapon before police find the gun, which was loaded with two live rounds.
After a search of the property, the officers found more bullet and six casings from discharged bullets in the bedroom.
The video then shows Darame being cuffed after officers scream at him ‘get your hands up, stand up and turn around’ before officers fetch him some clothes.
Darame later admitted possessing a prohibited firearm and possession of ammunition without a certificate and was jailed for five years in September.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We later recovered CCTV from the flat which showed him getting rid of the loaded gun.
‘The CCTV was shown as evidence in court, helping to seal his inevitable fate.’

Officers recovered the weapon which Darame had attempted to hide behind his toilet
West Midlands Police released the footage after revealing they had seized more than 100 firearms across the force area during 2021.
Officers recovered a total of 132 guns, including sawn-off shotguns, pistols and revolvers, plus a stash of ammunition.
Assistant Chief Constable Claire Bell said: ‘We’re working around the clock to identify and arrest people linked to guns and gangs.
‘Our specialist gangs units are continually reviewing the intelligence picture to understand the make-up and threat of OCGs (Organised Crime Gangs), disrupting their activity and carrying out regular enforcement.
‘We’re making regular arrests of people who pose a serious danger to our communities.

‘The work is really important and every single one of these guns we’ve recovered represents a potential life saved.
‘I’d urge everyone to work with us and provide information on suspicious activity or people suspected to have access to weapons.
‘We really appreciate information passed to us about gun possession or suspicious activity and will act on it swiftly to protect the public.’
