A MOM allegedly left her dying baby boy after the eight-month-old was beaten by her boyfriend to go smoke weed, court documents say.
Jada Guyton, 25, is accused of ignoring little Josiah after Jermaine Abron, 25, allegedly picked him up by his leg and battered him off a table and dresser.
Court records indicate the Michigan mom saw Abron coming out of the tot's room when she arrived back to her Grand Rapids home after a trip to the grocery store on March 4.
When she checked on her baby boy, he was "gasping," according to these documents obtained by 8 WOOD TV.
They state that "Guyton inquired about the noise Josiah was making" before "Abron admitted to Ms Guyton that he had dropped Josiah and Josiah had been crying."
But according to these records, "Guyton did not remove Josiah from the crib to check on him or assess why he was making gasping noises."
Instead, she "left Josiah lying face down gasping and went into another room of the home to smoke marijuana with Mr Abron."
Josiah's mom was previously probed by Child Protective Services (CPS) when his brother, 2, tested positive for THC found in marijuana at birth.
The Children’s Protective Services documents cited by the publication also detail Abron's alleged confession.
Officials say he "admitted to grabbing Josiah out of his crib by his leg and forcibly hitting Josiah against objects in the room such as a table and dresser."
An autopsy report revealed tragic Josiah suffered rib fractures that were around four weeks old and his death has been ruled as a homocide.
These horrifying details emerged when a petition was filed last week to take away Josiah's brother from his mom and Abron's care.
Guyton – who is three month's pregnant with Abron's child – sobbed throughout the hearing last Wednesday about losing her other child.
Disturbing texts between the couple from November to January 2020 have references to "beating [the two-year-old's] ass."
WOOD also reports Abron told cops they "frequently disciplined" the murdered toddler's older brother.
CPS cited Guyton for improper supervision last year after an incident of domestic violence involving Josiah's dad.
She didn't follow safe sleeping procedures for her little boy, CPS say, and a local health center reportedly had "ongoing concerns" about his wellbeing and failure to thrive.
Guyton wasn't charged but her lover Abron was hit with a first-degree murder charge and is being held without bond until his next court appearance.
