Horrifying moment cops discover man’s severed HEAD in a bucket after he was ‘strangled to death, sexually abused and dismembered’ by woman, 25, who ‘left part of his body throughout his house and in a car’
- Taylor Denise Schabusiness, 25, is on trial for the murder of Shad Thyrion
- Thyrion, 25, was dismembered in his mother’s basement in February 2022
Bodycam footage has been shown to a Wisconsin jury revealing the horrifying moment police found a man’s decapitated head in a bucket.
Taylor Schabusiness, 25, is on trial for the murder and mutilation of her 25-year-old lover Shad Thyrion, who was killed and dismembered in his mother’s basement in February 2022.
Authorities say she strangled Thyrion at the Green Bay home he shared with his mother, sexually abused him and dismembered his body, leaving parts of it throughout the house and in a vehicle. His head and penis were found in a bucket.
Grisly crime scene photos o blood soaked bags and a bloody mattress were also shown in court on Monday, the first day of Schabusiness’ trial.
Schabusiness was charged with first degree homicide, mutilating a corpse and third-degree sexual assault after the victim’s own mother discovered her son’s severed head in a bucket, covered with a towel, in her home.

Schabusiness is accused of taking advantage of Thyrion during rough sex and choking him to death with a chain. She then allegedly had sex with his corpse before dismembering him and leaving his body parts in various places.
His head and what police have described as a ‘male organ’ were left for his mother Tara Pakanich, and her boyfriend, Steve Hendricks, to find.
Hendricks called 911 that night and told the dispatcher that his girlfriend ‘swears that she found the severed head of her son in the basement.’
Body cam footage shown in court on Monday shows Pakanich telling police something about a ‘severed head’ and points to the basement of their home.
‘I opened the towel,’ Hendricks is heard telling police. ‘I picked up the towel and dropped it because I don’t know what the f––– it is, man. I have bad vision and she’s like: ‘Is that what I think it is?’ I don’t f––––– know.’
Thyrion’s penis was found in the same bucket as his head while other body parts were found in a variety of bags in the basement including plastic shopping bags

One of the responding Green Bay officers took the stand on Monday and described what happened when they arrived on the scene.
‘I went downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, to the right, there was a green bucket with a shower towel on top of it,’ Officer Alex Wanish testified. ‘Just to verify we had an actual head in the bucket, lifted the towel off and there was in fact a human head severed head in the bucket.’
Police found Thyrion’s head along with his penis in the bucket.
‘If we could get more units sooner rather than later that would be appreciated,’ the officer wearing the body camera says in the video played in court. ‘We’ve got quite a bit of blood down here.’
Other body parts were found in various bags in the basement including plastic shopping bags. His upper torso was found in a storage tote along with a carving knife and several internal organs.

Police records show Pakinich called authorities to her home in Green Bay shortly after 3am, and she revealed that she was woken at the time by the storm door slamming and the sound of a vehicle driving away
A blood stained mattress was part of the crime scene
Schabusiness told detectives that she had planned to take all the body parts with her when she left in her minivan, but that she had ‘got lazy’ and was ill-prepared because the murder was random and not planned.
Police records show Pakinich called authorities to her home in Green Bay shortly after 3am, and she revealed that she was woken at the time by the storm door slamming and the sound of a vehicle driving away.
She then noticed that the basement light was on and went to see if her son was there, assuming that it was Schabusiness — with whom Thyrion had spent the day — that she had heard leaving.
Criminal complaint filings said that after the victim’s mother didn’t see anyone in the basement, she spotted a bucket at the bottom of the stairs after turning to leave.
After removing a blanket covering the top of the bucket, she ‘discovered the head of the victim’, according to the complaint documents obtained by DailyMail.com.
Arriving on the scene, Green Bay Police Officer Alex Wanish reported how he had ‘observed the plastic bucket on the floor…[with] a shower/beach towel over the bucket.’ The officer ‘lifted the towel and observed a human head inside the bucket.’
He also noted ‘what appeared to be dried blood on a nearby mattress.’
Law enforcement quickly caught up to Schabusiness after the find, and she was discovered while still with blood on her sweatshirt and sweatpants, alongside scratches on her arms, a cut on her left thumb and what appeared to be blood on her hands.
When questioned over the incident, Schabusiness, who has a husband and recently became mother to a son, admitted that she and Thyrion had been doing drugs – including smoking methamphetamine – earlier in the day.
She said she had also shot herself and Thyrion up with Trazadone, a powerful sedative. Police recovered evidence of drug-taking, including a glass pipe and bag containing light colored powder, from the scene.
Schabusiness initially claimed to have blacked out during the attack, and when asked about why the head was in a bucket, she responded ‘that is pretty f****d up’.
She allegedly went on to tell police that she and Thyrion had been going to have sex and that he had produced two metal chains, one for him and one for her.
She said he put his chain around his own neck as strangulation was something they had used during intercourse before.

But she then shocked investigators with her next comment, as she blurted out ‘Damn the head. I can’t believe I left the head though.’
According to the complaint filing, she then told officers they were ‘going to have fun trying to find all of the organs as she had dismembered the body.’
Remaining calm, Schabusiness allegedly told detectives that after Thyrion put the chain around his neck — which she compared to a dog choke collar — she just went ‘crazy’ strangling him.
She said that she could feel his heart beating, ‘so she kept pulling and choking him harder,’ claiming that he would not die as he just kept ‘rebuilding into muscle.’
Schabusiness was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse and third-degree sexual assault.
Since her arrest, Schabusiness has had not guilty pleas entered on her behalf by the court and a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity entered by her former attorney.
Brown County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Walsh had ruled in March that Schabusiness was competent to stand trial.
In February, Schabusiness attacked her previous attorney during a court hearing before a deputy wrestled her to the courtroom floor.

Schabusiness is pictured returning to a Brown County courtroom earlier this month, where she violently assaulted her own defense lawyer
Prior to the start of her trial, Schabusiness had a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity entered by her former attorney – who was eventually allowed to quit the case after she attacked him in an infamous courtroom contretemps caught on camera.
In a defense motion, Schabusiness’ attorney argued that the sexual assault charge should be dropped because such a crime was factually and legally impossible due to Thyrion already being dead.
‘The defense asserts and argues that it would be unlikely and almost impossible for any sexual assault to occur with how the dismembered body was found by law enforcement,’ the motion reads.
‘The appendage (penis) was not attached to the body when it was found and the appendage was unable to function due to its condition.’
