POLICE swarmed an easyJet plane today after a technical issue caused it to make an emergency landing.

The flight landed at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport as intended where it was met by emergency services.

It had flown from Palma de Mallorca today but made an emergency squawk due to a "technical issue".

Easyjet confirmed it was met by emergency services as is protocol.

A statement added: "EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY3360 from Palma to Liverpool on 8 August was met by emergency services on arrival at Liverpool as a precaution only, due to a technical issue.

"The captain performed a routine landing in line with procedures and passengers disembarked normally.

“The safety of its passengers and crew is easyJet's highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers’ guidelines.”

Liverpool John Lennon Airport said the flight landed safely and it was "business as usual".
