A CHEATING dad beat his blindfolded fiancée to death with a baseball bat and then burned her body in front of his mistress, a court heard.

Patrick Frazee, 32, allegedly unleashed the savage attack on Kelsey Berreth on November 22 last year.

Police said he blindfolded Berreth, 29, near Woodpark, a town 73 miles south of Denver, Colorado.

He reportedly then asked the Berreth, the mother of his one-year-old daughter, to guess the scent of a candle before bludgeoning her to death with the bat in an extended beating.

Frazee had Thanksgiving dinner with his family only hours after the attack, a court heard.

Prosecutors allege he left his daughter Kaylee in the care of his mother before returning to cover his tracks after dinner.

He then reportedly phoned his mistress Krystal Jean Lee and demanded she help clean up the crime scene.

Law enforcement official Gregg Slater testified in court that the accused told Lee: "You have a mess to clean up."

BODY WAS NEVER FOUND

Slater said Lee arrived at the scene with a box of latex gloves, a white suit, booties, bleach, two trash bags and a hair net.

Slater said that Frazee had previously asked Lee to kill Berreth on three different occasions.

Lee, who claims she was acting out of fear for her own life, is reported to have driven 13 hours to get to Frazee from Idaho to Colorado.

Police claim Berreth’s body was burned on a haystack, along with the murder weapon.

It is alleged Lee took Berreth’s phone and drove to another county to try and lure cops into thinking she had run away from home.

Frazee then disposed of his fiancee’s gun to make police believe she took her own life.

The flight instructor was reported missing and the police launched an urgent search for her.

Her remains have never been found.

Frazee was arrested a few weeks after her disappearance when Lee started giving evidence against him.

She took police to an area of land that contained visible burn marks and traces of accelerant.

FEARING FOR HER LIFE

Frazee had tried to convince Lee to murder the mum numerous times before she went missing, local authorities claim

One of those times was an attempt to poison Berreth with a coffee and the court also heard Frazee asked Lee to beat her to death with a bat and then a pipe.

In all three scenarios, Lee couldn't go through with it.

Michelle Stein, a friend of the victim, claimed Lee eventually took part in the alleged crime because she feared for her and her two children’s lives.

Stein told CBS: "I will just tell you Krystal was very, very scared. Krystal is a level headed, kind, fun-loving, happy-go-lucky person.

"She's a tough cowgirl. She was absolutely scared and extremely upset.

"She did tell me that she's never seen that kind of evil in anybody."
