A four-year-old boy has reportedly died in India after being mauled and eaten by a herd of stray pigs.

The child, known as V. Harshavardhan, is said to have been attacked after leaving his home in Saibabad, Hyderbad, to play in an isolated area at 4pm on Tuesday.

The pigs dragged him to a rubbish dump where they killed him before eating part of his body.

Police were called and young boy was rushed to hospital.

He was declared dead upon arrival, according to The Times of India.

Harshavardhan lived in a hut in Singareni colony with his parents, who are said to be out of work due to the coronavirus lockdown.
