A 62-year-old husband from hell hit his wife with a car and then hacked her to death with a machete Thursday morning in The Bronx, police sources said.

The unhinged man, whose name was not immediately known, plowed a car into his 58-year-old wife on Ellsworth Avenue near Schley Avenue in Throggs Neck, according to sources.

Then he got out of the ride with a machete and repeatedly hacked at his wife, sources said.

A 911 caller reported the assault around 7 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of family, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, but she could not be saved, according to police.

It was not clear what led up to the fatal encounter, and the husband is in the wind, cops said.
