A 27-year-old man died Sunday after being shot in the chest in East Harlem, cops said.
The shooting, which cops said appeared to escalate from a domestic dispute, occurred around 5:30 a.m. in a housing complex on East 102nd Street and 1st Avenue.
The man, whose name was not released, was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
A 26-year-old woman was also shot in the leg and taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to police. She is expected to survive.
Ballistics were found at the scene, cops said. No arrests had been made as of 9 a.m. Sunday.
“It’s just scary,” said Trista Wong, who’s lived this NYCHA residence for the last six years. “It actually happens quite often.”
Another resident, Jackie Cruz, told The Post she rarely goes outside because of the violence in the housing complex.
“I just want to move out now,” she said.
A man, who asked not to be named, shrugged off the shooting, telling The Post incidents like this were all too common in the area.
“I mean, this goes on all the time around here,” he said.
