After a house that’s a real thrill(er)?
This three-bedroom property might do the trick.
Business owner Olivia Stone was browsing properties in Surrey online when she made a rather baffling discover in one of the homes for sale.
Hidden away in one of the bedrooms was a ‘shrine’ to Michael Jackson, with posters of the icon plastered all over the walls.
Creepy or glorious? That’s for you – or whoever wants to put an offer in on this place – to decide.
Strangely, the rest of the property is entirely MJ free, and the description of the place makes no reference to the singer, simply saying it ‘requires modernisation’.
Olivia, from Guildford, Surrey, said: ‘I was just browsing, seeing what was on the market, I currently rent so I was looking at house prices in my area.
‘I found it pretty strange but quite funny. The rest of the house looks pretty run-down so this one Michael Jackson room was even creepier considering the state of the place.
‘It doesn’t look lived in so I don’t see why the estate agents wouldn’t take the creepy fan art down before taking the pictures but maybe they’re just trying to attract MJ fans.
‘I’m not a big fan of Michael Jackson but I like some of his stuff. It would put me off, it gives me bad vibes.
‘It’s both creepy and completely odd. It looks like a child’s room.
‘The wallpaper is peeling but a lot of planning has gone into this shrine, which gives off major unhinged vibes.’
The listing notes that the home is vacant, and will be sold by online auction on Tuesday February 15.
It reads: ‘London Borough of Sutton. Situated in a cul-de-sac off Sutton Common Road in this popular residential area close to local shopping/travelling facilities including Sutton Common Train Station.
‘A Terrace House requiring modernisation with accommodation arranged on Two Floors comprising:
‘First Floor – Bedroom (One), Bedroom (Two), Bedroom (Three), Bathroom/WC, Landing access to Spacious Loft Area.
‘Ground Floor – Entrance Hall, Front Reception Room, Rear Reception Room, Kitchen.
‘Note: There may be potential for a loft conversion subject to the necessary planning consents being obtained.
‘Front Garden with Off-Street Parking. Garden at Rear.’
Rightmove and McHugh & Co. have been contacted for comment on whether the MJ shrine was left as is to attract fans, or perhaps out of fear of haunting from a Man In The Mirror obsessed ghost, and we’ll update this article should we hear back.
