Royal Variety Performance viewers have praised Prince William and Kate Middleton for enduring 'painful' jokes at their expense.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were sat in the royal box for the yearly entertainment show, which was filmed at the end of November in the London Palladium.
A host of talent, including Britan's Got Talent winner Colin Thackery, performed in front of the royals during the action-packed show.
However, viewers were disappointed with comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, who were hosting the show for the first time.
Wills and Kate were praised for 'having to force laughter' as the comedians poked fun at the pair – and even brought up their children.
Introducing the royals, Rob said: "We are also joined by some special royal guest tonight. I’m really excited about the royal party being here. I’ve been doing research. I went to Hampton Court Palace for 10 hours. I got lost in the maze."
Rob claimed he couldn't carry on with the introductions as "Duchess" sounds too much like what he would shout when he used to work down at the markets.
The comedian then did a strange bow while Romesh as introducing the royal pair like at the end of a pantomime.
Rob joked: "Thank you for coming out tonight. You’re on date night. That's exciting. You got the babysitter until midnight or 1am? It's worth that extra 20 quid."
His presenting partner then poked fun at future king Prince George and his siblings Charlotte and Louis.
Romesh said: "Like me you’re blessed with three beautiful children. I reckon every morning they come running into your bedroom and you look at their little faces and say, 'I regret this'."
Taking to Twitter to slam the presenters, one viewer said: "This is painfully awful #RoyalVarietyPerformance"
"Wow @robbeckettcomic and @RomeshRanga hosting the royal variety is painful," added another.
A third said: "Poor Wills & Kate having to force laughter for these 2 idiots"
"Dear God how awful are these two hosts on #RoyalVarietyPerformance I feel so sorry for the Royals having to endure such inane c***," said a fourth.
However, some viewers did find Rob and Romesh's jokes hilarious.
One fan said: "@robbeckettcomic and @RomeshRanga and absolutely hilarious opening the #RoyalVarietyPerformance crying"
"Fully LOVE Romesh + Rob hosting #RoyalVarietyPerformance," added another.
