JOSIE Long is a British writer and comedian who has built a strong following thanks to her award-winning stand up skills.

But time will tell if the funny woman has what it takes to be crowned the next Celebrity Masterchef champion. Here's all you need to know about her…

Who is Josie Long?

Josie Long is a 37-year-old comic from Orpington in Kent who began her career aged 14.

After winning the BBC New Comedy Awards at 17, she studied English at Oxford University before continuing to pursue a career in comedy.

Josie has embarked on several successful comedy tours and has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show three times.

The mum-of-one was also a long-term writer for Channel 4's hit show Skins, and has produced two short comedy films.

We made a feature film for 4 grand last year. We are finally finishing it and it should be out there in the spring. I am so incredibly excited. Written by me, directed by @doug14c

When does Celebrity MasterChef 2019 start?

The exact start date of Celebrity MasterChef is yet to be confirmed by the Beeb.

However we do know that it is due to come to our screens this summer.

And based on the previous series which kicked off on Thursday August 23, 2018, we can assume that this series will start around that time too.

So we still have a little time to wait yet.

Who is judging MasterChef 2019?

As usual John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be having their tastebuds tantalised by the celeb hopefuls.

The long-standing judges will be dishing up their opinions on the creations – and no doubt they'll be serving up a healthy dose of criticism.

Fan-favourites John and Gregg have been at the helm of both MasterChef and its celebrity counterpart since 2005.
