DURING her heyday Mandy Smith was the epitome of a wild child, and even married a famous rock star when she was just 18.

But fast forward over three decades since her time in the spotlight, and the former model now lives a VERY different life.

Who is Mandy Smith?

Born on July 17, 1970, Mandy Smith is a former model and singer.

During her modelling career she worked for newspapers and even did runway for big fashion designers including Katharine Hamnett.

Mandy also had a brief pop career, and released several singles in the 1980s and 1990s.

She signed with Stock Aitken Waterman after Pete Burns from Dead or Alive recommended her to pop mogul Pete Waterman.

The two started seeing one another when she was 13 and he was 47.

Bill wrote in his 1990 autobiography: "She took my breath away … she was a woman at thirteen."

The relationship only became public two-and-a-half years later, when she reached the age of 16, and caused a media storm.

The pair separated just two years after they were married.

Mandy moved out of their home just weeks after they wed, and it officially ended in divorce 23 months later.

She won a settlement worth $880K, which would've been around £2M now.

Speaking in his 2021 documentary The Quiet One, Bill talked about the ill-fated marriage.

He defended his relationship with Mandy in the film but admitted she was "too young".

"It was from the heart. It wasn’t lust, which people were seeing it as," Bill said.

"I was really stupid to ever think it could possibly work. She was too young. I felt she had to go out and see life for a bit."

Meanwhile, to make things even more complicated, in 1993, Bill's then-30-year-old son from his first marriage, Stephen, wed Mandy's mother, Patsy, who was then aged 46 – they split after two years.

In 1993, Mandy married footballer Pat Van Den Hauwe, but again it only lasted two years.

In 2001, she was briefly engaged to Vanity Fair model Ian Mosby, and they had a son, Max Harrison Mosby.

Meanwhile, after Mandy, Bill married Suzanne Accosta in April 1993 and they went on to have three daughters.

Where is Mandy Smith now?

Mandy now lives a completely different life, to the one she used to have in the 80s and 90s.

The former self-confessed wild-child is now teetotal.

Church-goer Mandy also teaches youngsters how to prepare for their first Holy Communion.

After ditching fame, she prefers to keep out of the public eye.

Mandy left the bright lights of London and moved to Manchester, where by 2011 she was living as a single mum while running a PR company, Kiss PR, with her sister Nicola.

In 2010, she publicly called for the age of consent in the UK to be raised from 16 to 18.
