From Byker Grove to Britain’s Got Talent, Ant and Dec are national treasures.
The two – who recently reunited ahead of the launch of I’m a Celebrity 2019 – will be trying something a bit different in their new two-part documentary.
This new show is all about family trees and DNA, but are Ant and Dec related and when will the show be on? Read on to find out…
What is Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey about?
The two-part special has been two years in the making and will see the duo digging into their heritage.
Guided by expert genealogists and historians, the two unveil some family secrets as they follow their maternal and paternal bloodlines using their DNA.
A big moment set to air in the show sees the pair flying off to Connecticut where Dec connects with a cousin and ends up meeting dozens of distant relatives.
Ant also opens up about the emotional reunion with his estranged dad.
What time is Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey on tonight?
The first part of Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey will be shown tonight from 9pm on ITV.
The concluding part will be shown tomorrow, Monday 11 November, at the same time.
Are Ant and Dec brothers?
Though practically inseparable in the minds of the British public, the two aren’t related.
They first met on the set of CBBC show Byker Grove and became best friends when they were just 13 years old.
Speaking to Weekend Magazine in 2015, they explained how quickly they became BFFs.
Ant said: ‘It just happened immediately. We clicked. We’d spend all day making each other laugh and annoying everyone and quoting Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer lines to each other.’
Dec goes on to add: ‘Then we’d go home and phone each other up, go to the football together or stay over at each other’s houses.’
Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey starts tonight on ITV from 9pm.
