BBC broadcaster Vanessa Feltz has issued an urgent warning to ITV viewers about the dangers of text message scams.
The broadcaster, 59, appeared on This Morning opposite daytime hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on Tuesday's show (25 May) – the second episode of the week.
But Vanessa had a stern warning for those watching at home: and it was all to do with a worrying rise of scam text messages and calls.
This comes after one unlucky ITV viewer revealed earlier this year they lost a whopping £8,000 after being scammed by a fraudulent caller – which left money expert Martin Lewis fuming at the affair.
Vanessa told viewers of the daytime TV show to exercise caution and act vigilant as scam texts continue to do the rounds.
Speaking passionately on the phone fraudster issue, she said: "We must remember all the police sergeants I've ever talked to about this say nothing is ever that urgent.
"So you get a message you're not expecting saying, 'you've got to urgently contact this, you've got to quickly join this link' or whatever it is.
"Nothing is that urgent. If something is really important you will be contacted in the normal, legitimate manner, but you know when people are dashing about they think, 'Oh my God, quick!' Then they've done it before they've even had a chance to think.
"Nothing is that urgent, that's the thing to remember."
The broadcasting star currently hosts an early morning radio show on BBC Radio 2 as well as the Breakfast Show on BBC Radio London.
The Sony Radio Award-winning host also frequently sits in for Sara Cox and Jeremy Vine on Radio 2.
Vanessa, who is a mother of two, appeared on the first ever series of Celebrity Big Brother back in 2001 – and a number of its spin-off shows including Big Brother's Big Mouth and Big Brother's Little Brother on many occasions.
On This Morning, Holly and Phil are on the show all week this week, before Alison Hammond and Dermot O Leary take over to host next week while Holly and Schofe enjoy the half term off.
This Morning has confirmed husband and wife duo Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who are set to return to Celebrity Gogglebox again this year for its third series, sadly won't be returning next week.
This Morning airs each and every weekday, from Monday morning to Friday morning, from 10am on ITV1.
