The new trailer for Top Gun: Maverick is here. The long-awaited follow-up to the classic ’80s movie Top Gun sees Tom Cruise reprise his star-making role as ace fighter pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, and it releases next summer.

The new trailer isn’t exactly heavy on plot, but there’s no question that it captures the triumphant spirit of the original movie. Maverick is now a training officer, and there’s a new group of recruits he needs to get into shape and into the air.
