Love Island 2019 has been hotting up after Tommy Fury and Curtis Pritchard arrived at the ITV2 series villa. Tommy, who is also a boxer like his brother Tyson Fury, has opened up about his famous sibling in the villa. The Love Island 2019 cast member spoke to fellow Islander Lucie Donlan about Tyson and shared his ambitions as a boxer.
What does Love Island 2019 star Tommy Fury really think of brother Tyson Fury?
Tommy spoke at length about Tyson on Love Island last night (Thursday, June 6) during a conversation with Cornish surfer Lucie.
“I think he’s the best in the world,” he said, quickly adding: “I’m not just saying this.”
“After everything he’s come through and now he’s the best in the world. I’m happy.
WHO IS TOMMY FURY?
“That’s why my mind is set to so strong. If I set my mind to anything, I can do it.”
Tommy added: “I believe in myself, I don’t have that attitude [that] I hope I’m going to be [a champion]. I have the attitude if I work hard, I’m going to be one.”
So, it seems Tommy is in awe of his brother and really looks up to him both as a family member and a sportsman.
WHO ARE TOMMY FURY’S EX-GIRLFRIENDS?
After entering the house, Tommy shared his concerns about being perceived in a certain way because of his claim to fame.
The star explained: “It’s mad because everyone judges me on my last name as being a d***head but I am anything but that. I love Hannah Montana for God’s sake! There isn’t one bad bone in my body.”
He later told the girls: “A lot of people have presumptions of me due to my last name and who I am related to. A lot of people second guess me.
“I want to make it really clear that I’m not after any quick mess around or just here to make the time up. I am after romance and I want a good connection.”
HOW ARE TOMMY AND TYSON FURY RELATED?
In terms of his sporting career, Tommy is an amateur boxer in the light-heavyweight category.
So far, he’s only participated in 12 amateur contests after making his debut on December 22.
Tommy has stirred things up in the villa after he stole Lucie from Joe Garratt before the public voted for him to go on a date with new arrival Molly Mae Hague in the hot tub in the Hideaway.
As the other Islanders cheered in excitement at the new development, Lucie seemed despondent when it appeared she could have her beau stolen away from her.
Love Island fans will have to tune in this evening (Friday, June 7) to see how the date between Tommy and Molly Mae goes.
This evening’s episode will also see the first dumping of the series with one boy getting sent home from the reality series.
Both Joe and Anton Danyluk are single which means they’re in line to be given marching orders from the villa.
Love Island 2019 continues on ITV2 tonight at 9pm
