In the new trailer, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) warns Tom’s Peter Parker that some ‘visitors from every universe’ are coming, bringing danger to everyone.
AceShowbiz -Sony and Marvel have treated fans to a new trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” for viewing pleasure. The new video, which was released on Tuesday, November 16, gives insight into Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) next adventure in the upcoming movie, which is part of the Phase Four of the evolving Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the new trailer, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) warns Peter of some “visitors from every universe.” He says, “When you botched that spell where you wanted everyone to forget Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, we started getting some visitors… from every universe.” That is when villains from past Spider-Man movies, including Alfred Molina‘s Doctor Octopus, make their appearances.
Dr. Ock, who appeared in “Spider-Man” movie series starring Tobey Maguire as the web-slinger hero, can be seen involved in a fight with Tom’s Spider-Man. At one point, he greets him, “Hello, Peter.” However, when Dr. Ock sees Tom’s face underneath the mask, he realizes that he’s “not Peter Parker.”
Dr. Ock is not the only bad guy that Peter has to send back. He will also battle Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Green Goblin. Elector appeared in 2014’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” starring Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, while Willem Dafoe played Green Goblin in 2002’s “Spider-Man” starring Tobey.
Back to the trailer, Tom’s Peter learns that he’s technically fighting ghosts as the villains all died when fighting Spider-Man in their universes. As Tom has to accept the fact that there’s no other way to handle the mess that he and Strange create, Green Goblin mocks him, “You’re struggling to have everything you want while the world tries to make you choose.”
Toward the end of the trailer, Peter tells Zendaya Coleman‘s MJ, “This is all my fault. I can’t save everyone,” before MJ falls from a staggering height. The trailer ends with Doctor Stranger saying that he can’t stop whatever it is from coming through.
While rumors have said that Tobey and Andrew will be making appearance in the new movie, the trailer doesn’t show it. It seems like fans will find out about it when “Spider-Man: No Way Home” hits theaters on December 17.
