Tiger King is a new true crime series to hit Netflix and it hones in on controversial big cat breeding in America with a focus on Oklahoma. Joe Exotic features in the series and the show follows the tiger keeper as he tries to shut down Carole Baskin, an advocate for big cat freedom. The series has been very popular with fans and there is now talk of a new limited drama series following its success.
Fans who have been obsessing over the Tiger King series will be pleased to hear there is more to come from the mad world of big cat breeding.
According to TV Line, Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon will play the role of Baskin in a new limited series.
Carole is the owner of an organisation which is looking to close down Joe’s zoo and take his animals from him.
TV Line said McKinnon will star in and executive produce a live-action adaptation of the real story, and the series is being worked on by Universal Content Productions.

- Tiger King: Who is Doc Bhagavan Antle, what happened to him?
The documentary series so far has focused on the rivalry between the two main stars Joe and Carole.
Joe was sent to prison for 22 years after being convicted of a murder-for-hire charge as he attempted to hire someone to kill her.
Joe is in the process of fighting his conviction and maintains his innocence.
News of this new limited series was mentioned last autumn when TV Line carried a story about McKinnon’s next project.
The website said: “Based on the Joe Exotic podcast, the miniseries (much like the Netflix doc) centers [sic] on Baskin’s epic feud with fellow big cat enthusiast Joe Exotic Schreibvogel.
“While there is currently no network or streamer attached to the McKinnon-fronted and EP’d scripted version, the breakout success of Tiger King will no doubt raise the project’s profile (and sweeten its prospects) exponentially.”
McKinnon has not yet confirmed whether she will be taking on the role in the new series, and no date has been set for its release.
Variety has also reported on the news McKinnon will be starring in the series, but no-one has been named to play the part of Joe.
