This Morning fans were baffled to find out Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond were missing from Friday's show (July 8) in a major format change.

Dermot and Alison normally present the hit ITV daytime show every Friday, where they get viewers in the mood for the weekend with their hilarious on-screen chemistry.

They first landed the job as permanent hosts since the start of last year, taking over from past hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

However, they were nowhere to be seen on Friday morning, leaving many fans on social media to ask where the duo had gone.

Instead, it was main presenting duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield at the helm, which marked a change from their usual days of Monday to Thursday.

Fans flocked to Twitter during the broadcast to comment on the presenter shake up.

One fan asked: "Where’s Alison and Dermot?! They bring the Friday mood"

A second said: "Where’s Dermot & Alison?? Very disappointed [sad emoji]" before one replied: "Same".

A third worried: "Have Alison and Dermot been fired?"

A fourth quizzed: "Phil and Holly on a Friday, what?"

The change came as Holly and Phil were due to go on a summer break from July 11 next week, so replacements have been lined up to fill in for them during their time away from the show.

Their co-stars Dermot and Alison, as well as Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes, will all front the show in Hollly and Phil's absence.
