The X Factor: Celebrity may have come to an end but there’s a new talent show starting this evening (Monday, December 9). The X Factor: The Band will be in search of the UK’s next biggest group who will try and follow in the footsteps of other successful bands created by the show including Little Mix and One Direction. Here’s everything you need to know about how the ITV show will work.
How does The X Factor: The Band work?
Singing hopefuls have once again been auditioning to get the attention of music mogul Simon Cowell and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger who will be the lead judges on the latest talent show.
They will be joined by a number of industry experts including Naughty Boy, Leona Lewis and Ella Eyre in advisory roles.
Those who wanted to audition had to submit videos of themselves singing, whether that be in a group or by themselves.
If they sung alone in the audition video, they will be put in a band during the show if the judges think they are good enough.

Very little else has so far been revealed about the new talent show.
Fans are expecting for the traditional layout to be used: audition, bootcamp, judges’ houses and then live shows.
However, it seems unlikely the competition is going to go exactly like this.
This is because there will only be a total of four episodes.
The X Factor: The Band will be starting tonight, with further episodes on Wednesday, December 11 and Friday, December 13.
Following this, the grand final will take place on Sunday, December 15, at 8.10pm.
This will be the shortest ever series of The X Factor, lasting just one week.
The reason for this could be the show’s quick turn around in order to beat another channel to the punch.

Previous The X Factor winners Little Mix will be heading up their own talent show The Search on BBC One, looking for the next band to join them on tour.
Simon was planning on airing The X Factor: All Stars featuring Leona Lewis and Alexander Burke this year but has put it on hold so he could focus on this very similar show.
He told The Sun: “It was too much fun not to do this year. I would rather it was us doing it first.
“It 100 percent makes it more exciting there being a battle.”

The X Factor: The Band will start just two weeks after TV personality Megan McKenna was crowned the winner of The X Factor: Celebrity.
She beat The Chase’s Jenny Ryan and presenters Max and Harvey in the final.
Throughout the series she sung her own music which went down well with the fans and judges.
Megan has won herself a record contract with Syco, Simon’s record company and the hope of a future music career.
The X Factor: The Band begins tonight, Monday, December 9, from 8.30pm on ITV.
