Meghan McCain has been clashing with her The View co-hosts and fans are not happy. The audience that watches the ABC daytime talk show seemed to have reached their limit with the tantrums thrown by the conservative co-host. A group of fans attached themselves to a petition asking for the removal of McCain and they are close to reaching their goal.
The petition at change.org calls for the ABC network to replace McCain with Ana Navarro or former co-host Jedediah Bila. Out of the 1,500 signatures needed to reach their goal, they have already reached 1,207 as of the publishing of this piece.
“Anyone who, like me, has watched The View for years and has seen the sourness and immaturity that Meghan has brought to the show, doesn’t need much persuasion,” the petition states. “Let’s get her off our favorite morning show and back to Fox News.”
Supporters that signed the petition echoed the same sentiments of the original poster.
“She is disrespectful of anyone who has the truth to this particular Trump administration,” a supported commented. “She’s not good for this show at all. At least Ana is honest in her assessments of this administration.”
“The worst decision ever for The View was bringing Meghan McCain on,” another supporter added. “She is so disrespectful to her fellow co-hosts, especially to Joy. Ana Navarro would be an incredible co-host.”
Whoopi Goldberg tells Meghan McCain to ‘stop talking’
On the last week of live episodes of The View, Whoopi Goldberg told McCain to “stop talking” when things got heated. The moment quickly went viral on social media and the co-hosts addressed the issue the following day.
“Things get heated on this show,” Goldberg explained. “If you watch this show, you know this has happened over the years. We’re really passionate. This is our jobs. We come in, we talk to each other, sometimes we’re not as polite as we could be. That’s just the way it is. But you’re going to be dealing with the same thing when you sit around your table with your family and you don’t agree, or somebody says something and goes off the rails. This is part of what we do.”
McCain also addressed Goldberg and told her there was no love lost between them. The Republican panelist said that they are like family and understands that what happens at The View table, happens across America as well.
“I love you very much. I’ve loved you for a long time,” McCain told Goldberg. “You were good friends with my dad. We fight like we’re family. It’s all good. We’re not tearing the set apart. Calm down, all of you, okay? It’s all good… I think it is a lens into what’s happening politically in the country. America’s at very heated levels right now and I don’t love it. But it is representative of what’s going on and it is raw and real. We are all passionate women. I am hyper, hyper-conservative, everybody else at the table is not. Sometimes we’re going to clash heads.”
The View is currently on hiatus for 2019 and will be back in January 2020.
