THE Mandalorian, the new Star Wars spin-off series, has launched on Disney’s new streaming service.
UK fans can finally watch it after months of waiting.
When is Star Wars: The Mandalorian released?
Star Wars: The Mandalorian launched on Disney + on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 – the same day the new streaming service arrived.
However, the platform was not available in the UK until Tuesday, March 24, 2020 – several months after the premiere.
The first two episodes of the series have dropped this week but the remaining episodes will drop every Friday until May 1.
Below are the launch dates of the remaining episodes:
Episode 3 – 27th March
Episode 4 – 3rd April
Episode 5 – 10th April
Episode 6 – 17th April
Episode 7 – 24th April
Episode 8 – 1st May
Jon Favreau, who has worked on the remakes of The Lion King and The Jungle Book, is behind the mini-series.
He has joined forces with a number of prominent people Taika Waititi, Deborah Chow and Bryce Dallas Howard to put this production together.
What is Star Wars: The Mandalorian about?
Set between the end of the original trilogy and the beginning of The Force Awakens, the series follows “lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”
A short synopsis released by Jon via Instagram, reads: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe.
“The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the empire and before the emergence of the First Order.
“We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic”.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal, who plays the lead character, compared his on-screen persona to Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood.
He said: “He’s got a lot of Clint Eastwood in him.”
