A tragic tale continues to unfold on Emmerdale as Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) faces the horrific consequences of committing one single violent act – an act which could see him locked away in prison for many years after he pleads guilty in court.
When a man called Lloyd (Matt Sutton) started harassing Amelia (Daisy Campbell) after seeing her social media videos, Dan wasted no time in warning him off. He visited Lloyd’s shop and left a message on his phone, threatening violence if Lloyd should contact Amelia again.
Lloyd ignored these threats and came to the village and spoke to Amelia in the church, making out that he was sorry for scaring her and behaving inappropriately. As they left the church Dan saw them hug, and he reacted by confronting Lloyd, who goaded him.

Dan saw red and punched Lloyd, who fell to the ground and hit his head. Despite Jacob trying to administer first aid, it was clear that Lloyd had been seriously hurt and he’s been in a coma ever since.
Dan was subsequently arrested and because of the threats he’d made and the fact that he’d visited Lloyd in hospital and spoken to his wife Julie (Emma Stansfield), the police had a clear-cut case against him and charged him with GBH.
In upcoming episodes Dan faces a plea hearing. He knows that Lloyd’s life is still hanging in the balance as Julie has told Amelia that her husband won’t ever be coming out of the coma.
As he stands in the court room he looks across at Julie, and he’s overwhelmed by memories of what happened on the day he hit Lloyd. Dan, basically a good man who was only trying to protect his daughter, is overcome with guilt and can see no other option. He pleads guilty.
Knowing that things could get even worse if Lloyd dies, Amelia braces herself for Dan to be sentenced – knowing that it could be years before her father is a free man again.
