The Chase’s Bradley Walsh was forced to apologise after one of the players made a savage swipe at his showbiz pal.
The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Thursday (November 2) as Bradley welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in for the primetime programme, the former Corrie star introduced contestants Steve, Rebecca, Ria, and Matt before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.
This week the quartet were up against Darren Ennis who made sure to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers. But things soon took an awkward turn during Rebecca’s turn.

In her head-to-head, she was asked: “In 2020, who became the first female artist to have a top 40 album in seven consecutive decades?” The options were Lulu, Shirley Bassey, and Sandie Shaw.
She ended up choosing Lulu and Bradley quipped: “I’m not sure about, in seven consecutive decades, it’s seventy years that.”
Rebecca replied: “She is getting on a bit,” to which Brad’s mouth dropped. “Who? Lulu?!” he proclaimed, as the studio audience laughed along.
“She’ll be thrilled with that,” he added, before halting the show to look at the camera and say: “Sorry Lulu.”
Despite her savage comment, she made it through the final – unlike first player Steve who was booted from the ITV gameshow. Up next was Ria, who also made it back.
The final player Matt had a tense head-to-head with Darren. However he also made it back to the gang, making the total cash up for grabs a hefty £12,000.

In the final round, the trio managed to get 16 questions right. Brad told them how it's been a winning score before, and all eyes were on Darren during his game.
However, like many times before, Darren caught them with 36 seconds remaining and no push backs. This meant Matt, Ria and Rebecca were all sent home from the gameshow empty-handed.
