The Chase viewers were left feeling rather sickened on Monday night after one of the male players referred to Jenny Ryan as "gorgeous".

As the team of four – consisting of two men and two women – took on The Vixen, fans of the ITV game show were stunned when it came to one of the male contestant's choice of words.

As Terry stood in front of The Chaser, Jenny said to him: "Terry the tango!" to which he replied: "Hi gorgeous."

She continued: "Cross stitch, heavy rock? You’re like this weird hybrid of Thora Hird and Ozzy Osbourne. I really appreciate it. I’m here for it."

But viewers at home were not impressed with how Terry had spoken to her and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Many posted gifs of people vomiting and several branded musician Terry as "creepy".

"#thechase can you still say… hi gorgeous?" one person asked, while another tweeted: ""Hi gorgeous!" Creepy as f**k… #thechase."

A third person added: "#thechase ‘hi gorgeous’ these days is the equivalent of ‘get your t**s out’ in the 80’s."

A fourth viewer was just as stunned and asked: "Did he say hi gorgeous to the vixen #TheChase."

It wasn't exactly a great episode for Jenny after she ended up losing to the team of four.

Struggling on several questions, the redhead didn't manage to outrun them in the final round and the four players went home with a total of £22,000 to share between them.
