Two series of the The A Word have already been released and filming began for a third series in May last year. The drama was created by Keren Margalit and was written by Peter Bowker. But when does the third series start and what will happen during the BBC series?
When is the new series of The A Word out?
Unfortunately an official release date has not yet been announced but the BBC has said it will be this year.
Filming started in May in the Lake District and Manchester for the third series.
Express.co.uk asked the BBC if an official release date had been announced.
Piers Wenger, controller of BBC Drama, said the crew was excited to be filming again.

Who is in the cast of The A Word?
In the third series Max Vento (playing Joe), Morven Christie (Alison), Lee Ingleby (Paul), Greg McHugh (Eddie), Molly Wright (Rebecca), Pooky Quesnel (Louise), Leon Harrop (Ralph) and Christopher Eccleston (Maurice) will return.
The central characters will be joined by some new faces including Julie Hesmondhalgh from Broadchurch and Coronation Street and Sarah Gordy from Call The Midwife.
The character of Joe Hughes is a young boy who has been diagnosed with autism.
Max Vento, who plays him, is from West Yorkshire and this character is was his first ever TV role.
Is there a trailer for the new series?
Sadly there does not seem to be a trailer for the new series yet but it will no doubt feature the adorable Max Vento.
Trailers for the other two series show the rolling hills of the Lake District.
Iconic in the trailers are Joe’s sound blocking headphones, which autistic people often use to mute loud and distressing noises.

What happens in the new series?
Not much has been revealed about the new series as a trailer has not yet been released.
However the BBC did give some clues as to what will happen in season three.
They said: “Two years on and things have changed for our A Word family.
“Joe is 10 and living in two places at once, processing the seismic change in his life through the filter of his autism.”

They added: “Alison and Paul are divorced and live 100 miles apart.
“Nicola has moved to London. Eddie lives with his dad. Rebecca has just realised she’s pregnant. Only Maurice is holding it together.
“And if Maurice is the one holding it together, you know you are in trouble.
“A family is always a puzzle and this one needs piecing back together, albeit in a different shape.”
Season three of The A Word will be coming to the BBC later this year
