Strictly Come Dancing fans were baffled when a technical blunder turned the screen black towards the end of BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker's dance.
Dan and his professional dance partner Nadiya danced an upbeat Charleston to Good Morning from the musical Singin’ In The Rain.
The BBC Breakfast host looked swish as he portrayed the role of Gene Kelly, but the upbeat dance was interrupted when a technical glitch caused the entire screen to turn black for homes up and down the country.
Tess and Claudia apologised for the blunder, addressing what everybody at home would have seen.
One took to Twitter to say: "Did anyone else’s screen just go black for a second?!"
Another said: "My screen went black for a second, just me?"
While some fans of the show offered harsh comments, with one saying: "Dan's highlight of his dance!!!…. The technical hitch."
Another harshly said: "The blank screen was the best part of Dan Walker’s Charleston…"
Although the technical glitch halted Dan's dance momentarily, this didn't stop him from scooping up an impressive score from the judges, and glowing reviews from the viewers at home.
Judge Cynthia, who is currently standing in for Craig, loved Dan and Nadiya's dance, but said that he needs to finish his lines.
Motsi said that she loved how the BBC star was stepping out of his comfort zone, and Shirley said it was his "best" dance yet.
Dan managed to hit upwards of 30 in his scoring, with Cynthia and Motsi both giving him a seven, Shirley awarding him a nine, and Anton an eight – meaning the dancing duo scored 31 in total.
Viewers took to Twitter in their droves to shower praise on Dan's dance.
On social networker said: "Dan & Nadiya you both know how well Dan performed tonight. He was looking like a real danger, having fun, enjoying the performance with no mistakes. Had to be at least four 9s if the marking was fair. Well done both of you. Magical – youre not the greatest dancer Dan, but amazing."
Another said: "Absolutely brilliant Dan and Nadiya what an absolutely incredible Charleston you are what strictly's all about your journey is fabulous to watch your best dance yet."
This comes as fans have called for Cynthia to replace Shirley Ballas after giving 'honest' critique to Tom Fletcher and his dance partner Amy Dowden.
