Kevin Clifton has said he’s ‘impressed’ by dance partner Anneka Rice after their first day of training together.

Despite reports claiming Kevin wasn’t exactly happy about being partnered with Anneka, the pair have provided a positive update following their first day training at ‘dance school’.

Posting on Instagram, Anneka wrote: ‘FIRST DAY AT DANCE SCHOOL! I LOVED IT! Kevin is a dream.’

In the clip, Kevin says: ‘Very impressed, very happy.’

‘I loved that so much,’ Anneka replies. ‘Honestly Kevin I think that’s almost the best day I’ve had in my entire life.

‘I’m spoiled Kevin. I love you. I’m really buzzing as they say on Love Island.’

‘You were brilliant,’ Kevin says. ‘You were amazing today.’

Kevin has a pretty consistent record on Strictly, having appeared in every year’s final since he joined the show in 2013, with the exception of 2017 when he was partnered with Susan Calman.

Last year, Kevin won the show with Stacey Dooley – with the pair striking up a romance since.

Strictly Come Dancing’s first live show kicks off on Saturday 21 September on BBC One.
