Simon slams Strictly Come Dancing after the first act

Strictly Come Dancing’s plans to host an episode of the upcoming series in Buckingham Palace have reportedly been quashed for a second time.

Last year, it was revealed there had been ideas put forward for the popular BBC show to be held in the royal residence for a special episode, but the idea was shelved.

At the time, it was announced the 2023 series would instead see the special move, but it appears the goal has once again been missed.

King Charles and BBC producers had reportedly been pleased to give proposals the green light, but thanks to unforeseen issues the plan has been delayed again.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II last year as well as King Charles’ Coronation in May came as huge events for Buckingham Palace, therefore another postponement has been made.

According to Metro, BBC sources have confirmed the Buckingham Palace episode won’t be taking place in this year’s series, which will start in September.

As reported by the Daily Mail, royal sources also dismissed the idea that there had been a “falling out”.

The publication stated sources made clear there was no falling out between the palace and the broadcaster and that there had simply not been enough time to pull off the idea.

The plan was for the episode to be royal-themed, but insiders from the Palace told the publication Strictly “could still be stage there at some point in the future”.

While fans eagerly await this year’s line-up announcement, some of the professionals are likely gearing up for rehearsals already.

Strictly stalwart Karen Heaur recently explained the difficult part about being away from home in an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk.

The dog-lover owns four rescue dogs, and explained: “We go away with them, we even got a bigger truck to be able to get the dogs in the back you know with their crates and again, everything is almost surrounded by the dogs and how much happiness they bring to us.

“And when I am away it is tough, very tough.

“But I know that they’re always being taken care of and that’s always my priority, that they’re happy.”

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC One in September.
