Former EastEnders star Nigel Harman will join Strictly Come Dancing
Nigel Harman has admitted he doesn’t watch EastEnders, despite the fact that he previously starred as heartthrob and fan favourite Dennis Rickman.
Soon-to-be Strictly Come Dancing star Nigel became a household name for his role as Dennis in the BBC soap from 2003 to 2005.
The popular character may have left decades ago but his character left a legacy on the soap, with his wife Sharon Watts (played by Letitia Dean) still on the soap today.
In a recent interview, Nigel seemed to be unaware of what was going on in the soap and went on to confess he was “too busy” to watch it.
Speaking on Loose Women last year, Ruth Langsford addressed Nigel’s EastEnders role.

As a clip showed Nigel’s final scene as Dennis, Ruth remarked: “The storyline was shocking at the time wasn’t it with you and Sharon?”
“I think so, yeah,” Nigel replied. “I think they worked it out, I can’t really remember… but yes she was my adopted sister so legally it was OK and we got married and all that.
“And I think… were we having a baby there? Was she pregnant there?”
“Well, why would we know if you don’t know?” Coleen Nolan joked.

“Well she had a baby, she had baby Dennis after you left,” Ruth explained.
Nigel responded: “Baby Dennis yeah, I heard about that. And apparently, somebody told me the other day I have a grandson.”
“So baby Dennis sadly also died,” Ruth added as a surprised Nigel answered: “Oh – what?”
“I’m just filling you in on this!” Ruth laughed, adding: “But then Sharon discovered that he had fathered a son.

“She’s discovered this since his death, so there’s a grandson. I don’t know if he’s called Dennis, but anyway.”
The presenter added: “You obviously don’t watch it anymore!”
“He’s too busy – you’re too busy, aren’t you?” Coleen offered, to which Nigel replied: “Too busy, yes.”
Nigel is among the famous faces taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, which is set to return to screens next month.
On his participation in the hit series, he admitted he was “terrified”.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 16.
