STRANGER Things has set the stage for a reunion of super-powered proportions.

The Netflix sci-fi hit is expected to return at the end of the year for season 4 after leaving fans on a major cliff-hanger.

Between Jim Hopper’s (David Harbour) disappearance and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) moving her sons out of Hawkins, it’s fair to say the gang have been torn apart in a major way.

However, the upcoming series could see some old faces return in a major nod to season 2.

Fans will remember how in season 2, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) met Kali (Linnea Barthelsen), who was also gifted.

She had the ability to project illusions, allowing her to manipulate the vision of those around her.

Kali, along with her gang, helped Eleven hone her powers, preparing her for the subsequent face off with the Mind Flayer.

However, Kali didn’t receive so much as a mention in season 3, leaving her fate shrouded in mystery.

Well, if the Stranger Things graphic novels are anything to go by, that’s all about to change.

The third series, titled Into the Fire, introduces a new group of test subjects who endured the same fate as Eleven growing up.

As for timeframe, the events of the comic take place in the months leading up to the events of season 3, culminating in the Starcourt Mall battle.

Perhaps a set of flashbacks will fill in the gaps and reveal the experiences of other test subjects during the invasion of Hawkins.

If Kali and the gang do return for season 4, they could play a pivotal role in helping her reclaim her powers.

There’s also the chance they could use their abilities to track down Hopper, if he survived the explosion in the Russians’ facilities.

Earlier this week, fans identified a Joyce clue that seemed to suggest Hopper was alive after all.

Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix.
