Millie Bobby Brown broke into the spotlight when she took on the role of Eleven back in 2016 as Netflix released the Duffer Brothers’ fantasy drama, Stranger Things. The show and Brown has gone onto receive worldwide plaudits, including four Golden Globe nods and a number of Emmy nominations. And while fans eagerly await to see Eleven and her pals return in season four of the series, they’ll get to see Brown in a role like none other she’s done before.
Netflix released a handful of first-look snaps from its original feature-length film, Enola Holmes earlier today.
Starring alongside Peaky Blinders star Sam Claflin and Superman actor Henry Cavill, Brown will take on the title role of the teenage sister of the legendary Sherlock Holmes.
Set in 1884 England, Enola Holmes follows the title character as she attempts to find her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) following a mysterious disappearance on the morning of her daughter’s 16th birthday.
Enola enlists the help of her now-guardians and brothers Sherlock (Cavill) and Mycroft (Claflin) in her quest to discover the truth.

The synopsis alone proves this is a role worlds away from what fans are used to see the actor play in Stranger Things.
And fans were quick to voice their opinions on Brown’s transformation from the supernaturally powerful Eleven to the historical teenage detective.
One fan said on Twitter: “Although I love Millie Bobby Brown’s character with Eleven, it was a shock to see her play another character.”
A second weighed in: “Millie Bobby Brown looks like a different person.”
Another added their excitement: “I’m looking forward to seeing how Millie Bobby Brown performs in a different role than Eleven.”
With a fourth echoing: “Seeing Millie Bobby Brown play a different role will be something to look forward to.”
A fifth praised the fact Netflix had cast Brown in the role despite it being so different from her time on Stranger Things.
They commented: “Netflix out here making sure their actors don’t get known as only one character for their whole career, massive respect.”
While it will be a welcome return to screen in the eyes of many, fans are still in the dark as to when Stranger Things and Eleven will be back in season four.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, production on the series had to be halted, much like almost every other series on the planet.
However, Hopper star David Harbour did shed some light on when it was initially penned for release earlier this year.
Speaking on Instagram in a live Q&A, he told his followers the series was expected to return “early next year.”

However, it appears the release has to be pushed back to catch up with the delay caused by COVID-19.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting its return ever since Hopper’s shock comeback was confirmed in a teaser trailer at the beginning of the year.
With his fate hanging in the balance in the season three finale, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for both him and Eleven.
