Leo King (Tom Wells) has succeeded in getting close to Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in EastEnders, and as a result he sets the next chapter of his plan in motion as he books a night stay in a hotel. However, his plans are put at risk by his mum Michaela Turnbull (Fiona Allen), who shows up in Walford on a mission during tonight’s episode.
Viewers have seen Leo and Whitney growing closer and closer over the last few months. However, the young paralegal’s motives are anything but genuine, as he’s out for revenge on Whitney, as he holds her responsible for what happened to his paedophile dad Tony (Chris Coghill).
With Whitney’s birthday on the horizon, Leo books a night stay in a hotel for the pair of them — something which he reveals to her tonight.
Meanwhile, Michaela turns up in Walford on a mission, as she’s hellbent on tracking down her son. When Leo learns of her arrival, he’s stunned — as he’s aware that she could risk ruining the progress he’s made in manipulating Whitney.
She demands to know what’s brought him to Walford, but he covers. However, Michaela’s not convinced by her son’s words, and pleads with him to exit with her. While doing so, she shares some home truths about Tony and, eventually, Leo agrees to leave with her, but she soon spots Whitney’s name on his phone.
With Michaela having worked out just what Leo’s up to, she’ll no doubt attempt to stop him in his tracks.
However, if we’ve learned anything about Leo in the past, it’s that he’ll not let anything stand in his way when it comes to seeking revenge on behalf of his dad — just look at what he did to Callum (Tony Clay) when he proved a thorn in his side. Also, let’s not forget he threatened Jack (Scott Maslen), so it’s safe to assume that there’s nothing that he’s not willing to do in order to ensure his revenge comes to fruition.
With his mum’s sleuthing no doubt a threat to his mission, could he resort to murder?
We know what he’s capable of, and the events of this week will lead to Whitney finding herself in danger, which suggests that Michaela’s interference won’t be a problem, so it’s likely that Leo will takes some steps to ensure she remains out of the way.
What’s more, Whitney’s set to face further danger later down the line during a graveside altercation with Leo — an altercation which gets incredibly violent — so we know he’s capable of all sorts.
Could Michaela find herself collateral damage as Leo pulls out all the stops to get revenge on Whitney?
