TNT’s hit thrilling series Snowpiercer premiered its eagerly awaited third season in January and with four episodes aired fans are already enthralled. However, the promo for the upcoming fifth episode provided some worrying clues about Zarah Ferami’s (Sheila Vand) pregnancy.
Snowpiercer followed the lives of survivors on board a moving train which travelled a continuous route around the globe, seven years after the world froze over.
The train, which originally began with 1,023 carriages, had a major class divide, with the wealthy and upper-class ticket holders located at the front where everything from the decor, entertainment and food exuded luxury.
Whereas, those who desperately boarded without a ticket were known as ‘Tailles’ and were shoved at the back of the train where there was no heat or light due to the lack of power.
In season one, fans watched as Andre Layton (played by Daveed Diggs) was pulled out of the tail to help solve a murder before he eventually became leader of Snowpiercer.
As well as using his police skills to restore order after the brutal murder, Andre discovered his ex-wife Zarah who was also on the train was expecting his child.
After Andre gained privileges for his contribution in solving the case, the revelation of the pregnancy meant he was given an entire floor in first class, where he and Zarah agreed to work it out for their baby.
However, the upcoming promo video for episode four provided some worrying clues about Zarah who looked as though she went into labour.
In the tense trailer, the expectant mother was whisked away by the train’s doctor and who could be heard saying: “Zarah’s in labour.”
Elsewhere, Winnie (Emma Oliver) who was also a message runner on the train could be seen racing through the tail and shouting: “Baby time,” to which people responded with a cheer.
However, celebrations soon turned bitter when the trailer showed a glimpse of Zarah on the bed slumped over and when the doctor ran to her side she disclosed: “She’s cold.”
Then she was seen again panicking as she said: “I’ve made a terrible mistake.”
With that being the last dialogue from the series in the trailer, all viewers could hear was the sound of the ventilator machine flatlined.
The chance Zarah succumbed to childbirth will undoubtedly rock Andre as he did all he could to protect her even when the trains were physically divided.
After the trains creator Joseph Wilford (Sean Bean) seized control of Snowpiercer, he reigned terror and divided the carriages which completely separated Zarah from Andre.
He even used her as collateral in case Andre was going to use violence to take back the carriages.
So with Zarah’s potential death, Andre could place the blame on Wilford who continued to stress her out even while she was full term.
Although the trailer showed Zarah as the one who could’ve died, there’s a chance it might’ve been Andre.
While he was alive when the mother of his child was escorted to the doctor to give birth there was also a harrowing scene of a fire on the train.
Andre could be seen running from the flames before he bumped into something and then fell, in the next clip Bess Till (Mickey Sumner) and the doctor stood over him when she said: “Somebody almost got him.”
With a number of passengers against Ander’s leadership and pro-Wilford, it’s likely he could be the next victim.
Snowpiercer season three continues every Monday on TNT.
