Killjoys at the BBC have axed Sir David Jason’s sitcom Still Open All Hours as the show has been ditched after six series, despite big ratings.
A spokesperson said: “There are currently no plans for new episodes of Still Open All Hours.”

The show launched in 2013 as a sequel to classic Open All Hours.
David, 83, who stars as Granville, helped the show reach up to 13million viewers, making it one of the biggest shows on the box. Over the years it starred the likes of Johnny Vegas, 52, and Sue Holderness, 73.
After its final series aired in 2019, David called on bosses to commission another run – but they have now decided not to so they can use budgets on new formats.
BBC execs said: "We’d like to thank the cast and crew for six wonderful series, which are all available to view on BBC iPlayer."
The original run of the show only had 26 episodes across the four series' but the revival brought in 41 over six series.
A seventh series was reportedly in the works but delayed due to the pandemic, though it has now been confirmed that the show won't be returning at all.
Still Open All Hours was a sequel to the 1973-1985 comedy Open All Hours starring both Ronnie Barker and David Jason, with the series returning for a one-off special in 2013.
As more than 12 million viewers tuned in to watch the broadcast, BBC immediately called for a spin off series which launched on a high with an average of 6.6million viewers per episode.
As the axe was confirmed, many fans have moaned about the decision on social media.
One said: "Sure it’s not a classic like the original, but I’d gladly take that over Mrs Brown’s Boys."
Another said: "While it’s obviously not up to the standard of the original series, it was still entertaining and enjoyable light comedy."
However, one viewer raged: "This was a bloody awful series. How they let it run so long is beyond me."
