It’s the pictures we have all been waiting for. Complete with sass and a glorious pink suitcase, Sam Mitchell is back in EastEnders.
Having taken over the role, this is the first look at Kim Medcalf’s comeback scenes and we honestly couldn’t be more excited.
It was confirmed earlier this year that Kim was re-joining the show as the character, who has also been played by Danniella Westbrook.
And Metro.co.uk exclusively revealed in a spring preview that she would be in the midst of trouble, not least of all for Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), the father of her child Ricky.
Sam is a Mitchell and this is a faaaaamily that never comes without chaos. Phil (Steve McFadden) is in Jail, Sharon (Letitia Dean) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) are trying to hold everything together and struggling Ben (Max Bowden) is heading for a crisis.
So can Sam support her family – it is she going to be focusing on causing huge amounts of chaos for those she left behind?
BBC Head of Continuing Drama Kate Oates reacted to the Sam Mitchell news: ‘I have long wanted to bring Sam back into the family fold. Her return is guaranteed to be explosive.’
Kim herself stated: ‘When the BBC approached me last year to reprise the role of Sam I was thrilled,’ said the star when news of her return broke.
‘She’s a brilliant character and I can’t wait to get back in the Square and work with the amazing cast.’
The soap has confirmed that we will see Kim back in the role on Tuesday April 19 – so not long to wait!
However, there are other reasons for Sam’s comeback – what is she hiding and what is the real nature of her return?
Expect fireworks, secrets and clashes with her connections of old.
