Love Island sent fans into a frenzy earlier today when they announced Sherif Lanre had left the show after “breaking the villa rules”.
Following an official statement from the ITV2 reality dating show, questions have been raised as to whether or not he will feature in tonight or tomorrow night’s episodes.
It comes as each episode contains footage from the current day and previous day, which is filmed around the clock and then edited into an hour’s instalment for viewers.
Therefore, it can be suggested that Sherif, who was presumably on camera and in the villa yesterday, will be seen during tonight’s episode.
To add to this, a close friend or family member of Sherif, who is currently running his official Instagram account has posted an image of the star, with the caption: “So sadly Sherif has left the villa. It’s unclear why at the moment but hopefully we will be able to update ASAP.
“But will STILL be appearing on our screens tonight Everyone on endz is BEYOND proud and excited to have him home. Comment [Love heart emoji] down below to send your love through the E-WAVES #loveisland #itv #itscominghome.”
A spokesperson for Love Island confirmed earlier today to Express.co.uk: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”
Responding, Sherif explained: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from. I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
Fans will wonder what this means for Anna Vakili who has been coupled up with the 20-year-old since the beginning of the show.

And it is also unclear how his departure is going to affect this week’s recoupling as well as the upcoming bombshells that are going to enter.
At the moment, the contestant line-up is a even playing field in terms of the number of boys and girls.
Therefore it seems unlikely that someone is going to leave, unless they add more newcomers in, or eliminate the first couple.
There is also the concern over who Anna is going to couple up with now.
With Curtis Pritchard and Amy Hart getting increasingly closer every day, it seems highly unlikely the pharmacist is going to rock that boat and steal the Ballroom dancer.
However, Anton Danyluk previously expressed interest in Anna before Sherif warned him against advancing.
But with Sherif now out of the picture, will Anton find a spark with Anna?
Newcomer Danny Williams stormed into the villa last night and caused tension amongst the girls when he took Yewande Biala on a date.
However, Molly-Mae Hague didn’t waste anytime in saying how much she fancied Danny.
Will Anna be able to get a look in? Or will Molly-Mae and Yewande fighting for Danny’s attention put her off?
Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2.
