ALONG with a new transmission time, Emmerdale bosses have teased new dramatic storylines.

The ITV soap is vacating its usual slot to be aired at 7:30pm instead from March 7, with an hour-long edition on Thursdays. Here's what you can then expect.


1. Chas and Charity butt heads

The Dingle reign over the Woolpack continues but the fate of the pub is still at the core of animated debates within the clan.

And, at the centre of village life, two cousins take sides and declare war.

Coming up, Charity (Emma Atkins) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) wreak havoc in the eponymous village in a battle of one-upmanship with the launch of separate events.

Both try their best to sabotage each other’s events.

But all hell breaks loose when the two landladies come face to face.

Chas has been shown seething after Charity and Ryan became the new owners of the iconic inn following a tense auction day.

2. Mandy is crushed

Some may believe that Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) would have gotten cold feet after suggesting marriage to Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).

But the loved-up go through with their elopement, leaving their families behind in Emmerdale.

Vinny's mother Mandy (Lisa Riley) is traumatised to discover her only son has married his girlfriend Liv without her knowledge.

3. Vinny tries to make it up to Mandy

ITV viewers will remember that spoilers announced Vinny and Liv get married in Daventry with the help of a friend of a friend, a registrar willing to bend the rules for them.

But when Mandy informs him of how she feels betrayed, Vinny is guilt-ridden.

Mandy also claims that she sees his wedding with Liv as utterly disrespectful.

What will Liv and Vinny do to help heal Mandy's hurt?

4. Manpreet feels unsafe

Held hostage by her sister Meena Jutla over the festive period, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) still struggles to feel safe.

The GP was saved alongside Vinny by Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) before the sinister nurse made a run for it and escaped justice one last time.

But, soon, Manpreet still struggles to believe she has nothing to fear, in spite of the criminal being in prison.

5. Meena gets a visitor

Meena (Paige Sandhu) could be taunting another villager from behind bars.

The serial killer is surprised that her sister Manpreet has decided to pay her a visit.

But Manpreet is far from willing to make amends with the murderer as she's only looking for a confession from the unhinged criminal.

6. Meena plans her revenge

But revenge could definitely be in Meena's cards as she grows desperate to claw her way out of prison.

Known for her manipulative tactics, Meena has already tried to get the best out of Liam Cavanagh and will be doing the same to vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin).

What could she be planning to push her sister's buttons?

7. Rhona's mother comes to the Dales

After Marcus Dean, Pierce Harris' son, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) has to deal with another visitor.

As she has always had a strained relationship with her estranged mother Mary (former EastEnders star Louise Jameson), Rhona isn't expecting her to come to the village anytime soon.

But Mary is clearly full of surprises as she steps into the Dales to see her daughter.

Will her sudden arrival in the village heal their rift?
