Selena: The Series trailer released by Netflix
Netflix dropped its series charting the rise of musician Selena Quintanilla, who went on to become one of the most successful Latin artists of all time. Many viewers have already binged the series after it was released recently and want to know about the show’s future. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.
Will there be another series of Selena on Netflix?
Yes, Netflix has already greenlit Selena for a second outing with the first series simply described as “part one” on the streaming platform.
Season two or part two of Selena is in the works but as this is a limited series, the second batch of episodes will conclude the show.
Lead star Christian Serratos previously said season two had already been completed, so it was unaffected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Selena was developed and executive produced alongside the Quintanilla family and serves as a fitting tribute to the late singer.

When will Selena season 2 be released?
Given the show has already been finished, the series could be coming out at some point in 2021.
Season one came out on December 4, 2020 with all nine episodes dropped in one go.
The follow-up could be landing at the end of 2021 with the second half released in its entirety.
Netflix has yet to confirm a release date but Express.co.uk will update this article when one becomes available.
Who will be in the cast of Selena season 2?
The Walking Dead’s Christian Serratos will be reprising her role as the title character Selena Quintanilla as she hits the height of her fame before her untimely death.
Other cast members expected to be making a return are Ricardo Chavira as Abraham Quintanilla, Seidy Lopez as Marcella Quintanilla and Noemí Gonzalez as Suzette Quintanilla.
Further cast likely to be reprising their roles are Gabriel Chavarria as A.B. Quintanilla and Jesse Posey as Chris Perez.
There are also likely to be some new cast members as the story continues to expand.

What will happen in Selena season 2?
The second half will see Selena’s fall and her tragic murder at the age of 23.
However, the drama will celebrate her life and music with her continued success as well as personal drama behind-the-scenes.
Speaking to Oprah Mag, lead Serratos said: “Our second part we’re going to see a lot more of the icon.
“I had a lot more to base the performance on—but it was nerve-racking because people know that Selena so well. There was added pressure.”
Is there a trailer for Selena season 2?
There’s no trailer as yet but one will become available closer to the release date.
As the show has already been made, footage is available but the show could well be in post-production with the finishing touches being added.
Once these have added, Netflix will be dropping a teaser for viewers to enjoy ahead of the show’s return.
Her sister Suzette previously told The Hollywood Reporter: “Selena will always have a lasting place in music history and we feel great responsibility to do justice to her memory.
“With this series, viewers will finally get the full history of Selena, our family, and the impact she has had on all of our lives.”
