Sarah Greene on finding happiness after losing her husband
Nearly a decade after her husband’s death, Sarah Greene is making her TV comeback this August.
The 65-year-old presenter will be co-hosting the BBC’s new quiz show The Finish Line alongside Roman Kemp, as she prepares to step back into the spotlight.
A popular face on TV throughout the 80s and 90s, Sarah is best known for fronting Blue Peter and Saturday Superstore.
However, she stepped down from her career following her husband Mike Smith’s tragic death in 2014 and focused on running his aerial filming firm.
Speaking about taking over his business, she confessed it was a big task for her, as it took up a lot of her headspace.

“Offers of TV came in but for a long time I was trying to learn this new business but also feeling too raw.
“Only time can help that, you know when you feel ready when you have that energy,” she told Mirror Online.
Mike, who was a BBC Radio 1 DJ and Top of the Pops star, died at the age of 59 following complications from heart surgery.
Since his death, Sarah has found love once again with racing car driver Robb Gravett, who was a good friend of her late husband.

Thrilled to be back on TV, Sarah confessed to the BBC how filming The Finish Line has reminded her of how much she loves working in television.
When asked if people can expect to see more of her in the future, she said: “Well, I would like to think so, I hope so. I’m really watching this space really.
“Once this has started going out, there might be some things going on. And like I say, the things that I have said yes to are the things that I’ve always wanted to do, like Would I Lie To You.
“Always wanted to do that and loved doing that. And I get nervous with it. They’re desperate for me to do Mastermind. And I just don’t know if I could cope. Too much pressure! But we’ll see.
“I said to them, if ever Clive wants the day off, I’ll go in and I’ll ask the questions. That’s what I’ll do. I think I’ve realised that I really enjoy that side of it on quiz shows!”
The Finish Line will see five contestants battle across a series of qualifiers and head-to-head races in each episode.
For the chance to win a cash prize, competitors have to reach the finish line before their rivals.
The Finish Line is set to air on Monday 21 August on BBC One at 4.30pm
